Our Honey

Melys Honey

Melys Honey is a Welsh Wildflower honey from the unspoilt countryside of Conwy, North Wales. Made by the bees from the nectar from plants such as, Sycamore, Hawthorn, Willow, Dandelion, Clover, Blackberry, Ivy and many more. With a delicate, complex flavour.

We do not add anything to our honey, it is a pure raw honey that has been extracted in the most natural way. When extracting the capped honey, we let it filter very slowly to remove any small bits of wax, it is not heated or treated in any other way.

Once it has been through the sieve it is left to settle for 24 hours to remove any air bubbles and is then put into jars and sealed to ensure it reaches you in the best possible condition.

It all depends on where the Bees Buzz....

The color and flavor of honeys differ depending on the nectar source (the blossoms) visited by the honey bees. In fact, there are more than 100 unique types of honey available, each originating from a different floral source. Honey color ranges from nearly colorless to dark brown, and its flavor varies from delectably mild to distinctively bold, depending on where the honey bees buzzed.

As a general rule, light-colored honey is milder in taste and dark-colored honey is stronger.

We have had a range of different types of honey over the years, from a light colour to a thick dark honey, sometimes we even get a set honey. It is just like a lucky dip! we don't know what we are going to get until we extract it in the spring and then again in late summer,
that is the beauty of Melys Honey!

Sweet and Delicious - you know you want some!
